What is a Photofacial?
A Photofacial is a FDA approved, non-invasive skincare treatment that utilizes light-based technology to precisely target sun spots, age spots, uneven skin tone, pigmented areas and vascular lesions. It is commonly used to treat sun damage, Rosacea, vascular imperfections and hyperpigmentation. How does a Photofacial work?
Using the latest technology in skin rejuvenation, short pulsating bursts of high energy light penetrate below the surface of the skin. The Photofacial lightens and gradually fades sun spots, freckles, age spots, broken capillaries and rosacea, diminishing the signs of aging.

Photofacial Before & After
What to expect from your Nu Image Photofacial
After you skin is analyzed and cleansed, a water based gel is applied to treatment area. Our trained clinicians will then gently glide a specially designed handpiece over the treatment area. Cooling of the skin surface via the handpiece tip ensures additional safety and comfort during this gentle procedure. Treatments can be used on different areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. These often include the face, neck, décolleté, legs, hands and arms. Depending on the area treated and your specific skin type and condition, each Photofacial only takes between 15 and 30 minutes.
Immediately following a Photofacial treatment, you will be free to resume your daily activities. A brief period of redness is the most common side effect of the treatment. This can easily be covered up with foundation or concealer until the redness subsides, usually within a day or two. The treated spots may begin to darken and this typically subsides within a day or two. Over the course of the next one to three weeks, the darkened spots will fade. Results are cumulative and desired improvement of skin tone is typically achieved in 3 to 5 treatment sessions.
While each person is different, most of our guests achieve excellent results from our skin rejuvenation programs. Even so, you will continue to age as you expose yourself to the sun and other environmental elements. What you can do is come back for regular touch-ups. Our clinicians will recommend the best maintenance plan for you.
